Biography
Early Life
Very little is known of the Unit 14 Leader's origins; what is known is that he was born in 1992 in Russia shortly after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
Military Career
By 2010, the Unit 14 Leader had joined the Russian Armed Forces, and by 2014 he had risen to the rank of Sergeant. However, the Unit 14 Leader quickly became appalled by the Russian military from his new position, and instead began shifting his interests in experimental weaponry and tech being developed by the military, seeing the benefits of selling military-grade armaments to the black market as a way to make a quick buck and allow him to form a sphere of influence in the black market underworld.
By 2015, the Unit 14 Leader had amassed a large group of soldiers under his command that also wanted to benefit from selling military gear to the black market. However, the Unit 14 Leader's superiors quickly learned of what he was doing, though he managed to flee the country with his men before they could be arrested by Russian military police for their treason. Nevertheless, the soldiers managed to begin making their mark on the black market by selling equipment they escaped with. Fleeing to the United States, the Unit 14 Leader knew that they wouldn't make it long without a way to generate profits, as they were depleting their supply of gear rapidly. Knowing the United States was also developing military-grade armaments themselves that they could sell, the Unit 14 Leader had his men infiltrate parts of the United States military to root out the locations of research facilities conducting research on experimental technologies.
Unit 14's Origins
In 2016, the Unit 14 Leader was alerted to the presence of the Humane Labs research facility in Northern California, taking great interest in Division One's research. It was here that the Unit 14 Leader saw the perfect opportunity to raid the facility and steal the technology and research being developed there, as it would provide his organization the perfect starting place to begin developing their own unique tech to sell. On July 18th, the Unit 14 Leader and a squadron of his men assaulted the facility during Division One's presentation of their experimental temporal teleportation system, having been tipped off of the event by one of their insiders implanted within the facility. During the raid, the group managed to acquire large amounts of research to decipher and experimental tech before fleeing.
Within the following months, the Unit 14 Leader and his men formed Unit 14, their very own underground organization to begin professionally selling their reverse-engineered research to the black market, which saw great success and generated a vast profit to the group. Over the course of the next two years, Unit 14 began building their wealth and power, establishing their own facilities across the globe. In January 2019, Unit 14 would discover Element X, a rare element and substance that enabled Unit 14 to develop powerful armaments that rivaled the world's superpowers. With even more attention being drawn towards Unit 14 as a result of their latest discoveries and research, the Unit 14 Leader began distancing himself from the public eye to avoid his identity from being revealed.
Second Chance
By 2035, as a result of numerous factors largely due to the efforts of Division One and Amici, Unit 14's power began to rapidly dwindle. With very little places left in the world he could hide, the Unit 14 Leader began making contact with Group 492, a privately-owned research company based in Canada that Unit 14 previously worked with in developing Element X research. However, when their leader Doctor Jonathan Smith refused to join Unit 14 as a result of the damage they caused upon the world with their work with Element X, the Unit 14 Leader had one of Smith's top scientists captured to use a leverage to force Group 492 to join their cause, in addition to unleashing Unit 14's zombie army onto Group 492's base to further pressure Smith.
Unfortunately for Unit 14, Division One, having formed their own private military company called Umbra Ops, began working with Smith after rescuing him and later his top scientist to put an end to Unit 14 once and for all and assassinate their leader. While Smith ended up being killed personally by the Unit 14 Leader during a raid at a Unit 14 relay station in Myanmar, he managed to reveal the identity of the Unit 14 Leader to Umbra Ops through his helmet cam. Knowing his cover was blown, the Unit 14 Leader retreated to Dubai, where Unit 14's last major stronghold was located at. On November 10th, Umbra Ops launched an offensive on the Unit 14 headquarters in Dubai to find and eliminate the Unit 14 Leader.
Before the Unit 14 Leader could escape by helicopter on the headquarters' roof, Umbra Ops managed to confront him and what was left of his men. In the ensuing struggle, Chris Bennett was able to shoot the Unit 14 Leader in the shoulder, wounding him. The Unit 14 Leader then stumbled off of the roof, but is soon caught by Roach. Roach then offered to spare the man to let him pay for his crimes, but he refused, and responded by punching Roach in the face with his free hand, causing Roach to lose his grip with the Unit 14 Leader and sending the leader pummeling to his death. With the Unit 14 Leader's death, the killing blow was delivered to Unit 14, who ceased to exist in Earth-92116.
