Reformed History: Remembrance Creation by RoachTheIntelCollector canon to the Roach Chronicles

“Lady Luck, huh? With all things considered, we could really use a little more luck in our lives.”
Chris Bennett

Lady Luck, fully known as Lady Luck Soda, is a custom Perk-a-Cola created by RoachTheIntelCollector, making its debut appearance in Reformed History: Remembrance.

Overview

Effects

Inspired by the concept of luck and gambling, Lady Luck's main effect is mainly derived from the "Better Mystery Box Weapons" Persistent Upgrade from Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

With Lady Luck, the player's purchase of the Mystery Box, now dubbed the Premium Offer, will generate better, stronger weaponry at an increased rate such as assault rifles, light machine guns, and wonder weapons, as well as certain non-wonder weapons that appear exclusively in maps. While the chances of getting a better weapon is higher, there is still a chance to receive other weaponry such as pistols and submachine guns.

Should the player roll a Teddy Bear, the perk will force it back into the Mystery Box, allowing the player to use the Mystery Box a couple more times until the bear resurfaces and immediately relocates the box. During a Fire Sale, the perk will cause all Mystery Box purchases during the sale to be entirely free.

Unlike the Persistent Upgrade, Lady Luck also possesses an additional ability in the form of drastically increased weapon damage. This ability is triggered randomly throughout the game when the player has the perk, and can be identified when the perk's icon begins to pulse and the rounds fired by weapons have golden tracer rounds. The duration of this effect is also random, and can last for either long periods of time or a mere few seconds. Furthermore, a green tint will appear on the player's screen to signify the perk's bonus is active, featuring dollar signs that flow down the sides of the screen in a similar manner to the effects of the "Profit Sharing" GobbleGum.

Creation

Lady Luck was first conceptualized by RoachTheIntelCollector on August 9th, 2020 as a brand new perk for Reformed History: Remembrance. Two years later on August 20th, 2022, the perk was given a massive overhaul in theming, effect and price balancing, and overall appearance. By August 29th, Lady Luck was given an official perk machine, logo and badge design by dumbdelvon on Twitter through a commission. On February 9th, 2023, the perk's main effect was rebalanced to closely resemble the "Better Mystery Box Weapons" Persistent Upgrade.

Appearance

Lady Luck's perk icon is five playing cards, each with a skull on the corners and front, fanned out and stacked on top of one another. The color of the icon, neon green, associates mainly with both money and the neon lights seen at casinos. The perk machine for Lady Luck is modeled after a newer rendition of Juggernog's machine, complete with a touch screen found on modern-day soda machines, in addition to a mechanical lever attached on the side of the machine like a slot machine. The machine features a shiny silver upper half and a green lower half color scheme, and like Juggernog, has a large circular icon of Lady Luck's symbol on top of the machine while a smaller version of the logo can be found on the ice dispensery button. The touch screen also displays the perk's full name across the screen, and the mechanical level has a green knob.

Whenever the player purchases Lady Luck, the machine will retract a plastic shield protecting the dispensery area, allowing the player to take a perk bottle that has already been dispensed with the perk. After the player takes the perk bottle, the machine automatically replaces the bottle with a new one and dispenses more of the perk into it, closing the shield in the process. Additionally, the mechanical lever will move and the touch screen will display a slot machine game when the perk is bought; the screen will display three reels containing various Zombies related items on them as they spin and stop, though the result of the game will not impact the player. Currently, Lady Luck does not have a lyrical jingle, but rather an instrumental one using a genre of Celtic music.
