Element CXV is a storyline created by 900bv, which is a modernised adaption of the science-fiction elements of the original Treyarch Zombies storyline. It is set in a modern world where technology advanced at a much faster pace due to the discovery of the "miracle element" 115, also known by the name Pantheonium, which becomes integral to modern society. In a money-making effort a corporation known as CXV, who own the majority percentage of 115 on Earth, constructed a drug known as Universe, which was based on 115's hallucinogenic and nootropic qualities when consumed. However, the lack of intensive testing on the product before it was publicly released caused a significant side effect to not be discovered, which causes the minds and bodies people who overdose on the drug to become mutated, creating a hivemind of zombies that obsessively hunt the element and infect others with the high volume of 115 in their system.

Element CXV doesn't contain a significant supernatural bent like the Aether or Chaos canon storylines, but instead uses certain parts of the storylines to create a more "ground-level" science-horror Zombies story. The group the storyline primarily focuses on the Contagion crew, who debut in the first map of the storyline, Pink Pills. The crew consists of Persephone Emteles, Harley Rose, Isaiah Bordeaux and Elizabeth TDI.

Pink Pills

Pink Pills is the first map in the storyline, and is set around Blurryface :))), a huge burlesque club in the city of Starview, owned by CXV. As a way of forcing Universe addiction to the public, CXV integrated the Universe drug into the club's drink and into the smoke machines around the club. As a result, the volume of the drug consumed at the club caused it to be a major hotspot for mutation activity in the city. Four of those that did not partake, Persephone Emteles, Harley Rose, Isaiah Bordeaux and Elizabeth TDI, are now in a race to stem the spreading of the infection.

The Scar Trail

The Scar Trail is the second map in the storyline, and is set in the interconnected ganglands in the sewers of Starview. The sewers are heavilly waterlogged and any shelter is marshy and unstable, although some tunnels that lead to the outside are safer and less at risk to storms. Persephone Emteles, Harley Rose, Isaiah Bordeaux and Elizabeth TDI, rush to the underground in an effort to find shelter and where they go next, but find the entire district suffering the same fate as Blurryface.
