The Railgun is a wonder weapon that appears in the Call of Duty: Eclipse Warfare Zombies saga, first appearing in the bonus survival map Dunkelste Stunde and later reappearing in Celestial Abyss, Project Omega and Mines of Despair. It is an experimental high-tech military prototype weapon designed to neutralize and contain the zombie outbreak. It can be obtained from the Mystery Box for 950 points.
A cannon version of the Railgun titled the Railgun Cannon appears on the Iron Doom.
Overview
The Railgun is one of the most lethal weapons found within the game. Manufacted by the Coil Arms Division, a secret weapons manufacturing organization, it was constructed to combat the zombies in their effort for total domination of the universe. The weapon fires kinetic energy penetrator rounds at a very high velocity, nearly at hypersonic speed, and is extremely powerful, being able to kill an entire line of zombies in one shot.
A major drawback to the Railgun however is its accuracy, requiring accurate shooting because of its poor blast radius; any shot that misses deals no damage, and since the weapon is a single-shot, it would take multiple seconds to recharge. Another downside is its low ammo counter, meaning the player will have to make every shot count.
When upgraded via the Pack-a-Punch Machine, it becomes the Vigilante, featuring a 2 shot semi-automatic firing mode, as well as double the reserve ammo. The color of the lights on its barrel also changes from blue to green. The splash damage is also increased, but it does not affect the user.
Design
The Railgun features a very linear design and two electrically-powered rails on the front, with a small fixed stock on the rear and what appears to be the vent units behind the power source. The Railgun also has a transparent sight with a triangle-shaped reticle on it. A blue light is visible when the Railgun is loaded and turns red when fired.
Not long after the disbandment of the Coil Arms Division, Ataraxia found the blueprints and materials to make his own Railgun. Instead of making his Railgun portable, he designed and installed it as a large powerful cannon that can be charged for more destructive power. With this, Ataraxia made this the main weapon of his nearly indestructable Iron Doom weapon.
Trivia
- The overall concept of the weapon, as well as the description of the weapon, are all from the game Grand Theft Auto V.
- The Railgun is the third wonder weapon created by RoachTheIntelCollector, and the fourth weapon created by him overall. The other two wonder weapons being the Harbinger and the Nuclear Fusion Reactor-16, while the other weapon is the Yin Blade.
