- “Our fireteam had nine operatives. You already know what happened to Hawk, Iron Lady and Ella. But Private, well Private was a mute. Didn't like talking much. Texas doesn't like bringing him up, cause she feels responsible for his death.”
- ―Tigress[src]
"Private" was the name of a character who was introduced in the Retribution's Legacy first issue Legacy, Part I: First Contact comic as a supporting character. He was also mentioned in the A Joker's Debt expansion by "Tigress" during a conversation with The Drifter.
Private is described as being a silent soldier who didn't really talk much at all, thus causing his allies to not know anything about his past. He was part of the United States Army until he was selected to become part of a unit led by Field Commander "Nightstalker" within Task Force: STALKER. In a different timeline, Nightstalker had lent Private to a US Army operation to investigate a disturbance in Caldera Peak, Colorado where he ultimately died killing himself along with a large group of mysterious creatures.
Following the news of his death, Private's commanding officer Nightstalker felt like she was responsible for his death by sending him to assist the US Army in the investigation; his death had an impact on her and would linger in her thoughts for years.
Trivia
