Johnson was a member of the United States Army who participated in a covert black project to create undead specimens for the army.

Biography

Illegal Black Project

On October 25th, 2019, Johnson was present at The Black Zone, a classified military installation. Despite knowing the dangers of Element X from intel provided by Roach and his team, Johnson nonetheless participated in an illegal experiment with the facility's head scientist to convert a captured Unit 14 soldier into a zombie using a retrieved sample of the element.

During the experiment, Johnson helped stabilize a machine used during the infusion process, though an unknown error caused the machine to destabilize, causing the Element X sample to rupture and explode. As a result, Johnson, the head scientist, and the captured Unit 14 soldier became the first zombies of a new outbreak that would quickly spread across the country in a matter of days.^[1]
